Glamour behind the scene

GLAMOUR BEHIND THE SCENE // I first wore these wedges a few days ago to an outfit shoot which N. and I had to postpone for half an hour when it became apparent that a trip to the pharmacy to get some bandages was urgent/inevitable/lifesaving. I wasn't so naive to think I'd be able to flee physical taxes on my new shoes (I already had to style them with bandages shortly after I'd left the house) — the problem was that the new state of affairs defied the usual nursing routine with utter nonchalance: instead of staying in place and enabling me to walk without wanting to scream like something out of Greek mythology, bandages kept falling off one after the other because of excessive rubbing.

At the pharmacy I asked for the strongest kind they had in stock and the lady behind the counter recommended a brand people use when they go climbing. Of course, I quickly found out that city asphalt is a much more difficult terrain than mountains: the new bandages did almost as lousy a job as their predecessors. This realization inspired a desperate flow of thoughts lamenting the fact that this scenario has happened with every single pair of shoes I've ever owned (including custom-made ones) and that the possibility of these sensitivity issues magically vanishing into thin air one day is practically non-existent. Nonetheless, I'm keeping my hopes and spirits up: the wedges will stay in quarantine until my feet have recovered and then we're off to conquer the world. With or without bandages.

I trust in these: www.compeed.com

They have saved my life so many times and still allowed me to keep wearing the shoes that caused all the trouble in the first place.

(Loving the shoes!)

Ne pomaga. ;) Vseeno hvala! Kaj naj rečem, aklimatizacijska doba je dolga in zapletena, ampak čez nekaj časa se vseeno navadim. Drži pesti, da bo čim prej. :)

@Melanie

Those shoes are so amazing! It sucks that they hurt. I know how horrible that can be.
