The 3 days I spent in Salzburg this week were my vacation from vacation. I wore one of the black dresses that make me feel like a better version of myself and these sandals to a concert at the Salzburg Festival; this ensemble always catches attention although I'm usually the quiet person observing from the corner. Fashion in Salzburg is not great, including the expensive stores. The mundanity of the window display at Hermès ruffled my feathers because this array makes no sense. Where are the Birkins and the Kellies? Where's the glamour? Hermès was always the best at creating the beautiful fashion illusion. Here's to hoping that window-shopping at their store in Venice next month will correct my impression.

I always go to Venice with my family at the end of August for my dad's birthday. Otherwise it's really much better to wait until the fall. :)

Salzburg is one of my favorite cities in the WORLD. it is just SO breathtakingly beautiful and so rich in culture.

I know what you mean. The Hermes display is rather dull. The one in downtown Toronto is always amazing. If only window shopping was actually shopping in the store. :(
I have never seen a Birkin or a Kelly in Hermès window. And have done lots of window shopping at Hermès. Maybe now that there is no waiting list for them anymore, it will change, but I doubt it. They have great magazine ads, but their window displays are nothing special.

The Venice store has them in the window every time I'm there. To me their displays are the best in the city, next to Alberta Ferretti. And I agree about the ads, this one is one of my favorites (reminds me of Yamamoto).
